Marion County Parents as Teachers has received national recognition as a Blue Ribbon Affiliate, making it one of the top performing home visiting affiliates within the international Parents as Teachers network. The official designation was made on October 1, 2018.
To provide the information, support and encouragement parents need to help their children develop optimally during the crucial early years of life.
Parents as Teachers is designed to assist ALL FAMILIES in Marion County with children from birth to age three in becoming their children's first teachers.
PAT Certified Educators offer parents personal visits with timely information about each stage of their child's development and learning.
Frequently scheduled get-togethers with other parents provide opportunities to gain new insights and share common experiences. These events are centered around fun child-focused activities or relevant parenting topics.
Periodic screenings help assess the overall development in language, social, intellect, motor and health.
Networking links families with community resources and services beyond the scope of the PAT program.
