Marion County Parents as Teachers

Home Page

A fun, early learning program sponsored by local school districts for soon-to-be parents and parents with children up to three years of age.

Mission Statement

To provide the information, support and encouragement parents need to help their children develop optimally during the crucial early years of life.

Who We Serve

Parents as Teachers is designed to assist ALL FAMILIES with children from birth to age three in becoming their children's first teachers.

Check Out the Home-made Activity of the week!

Puddle Splash

Outdoors, let your child splash through puddles in his/her rain boots.  Indoors, practice jumping, marching or walking tiptoe through pretend puddles made with colored paper or towels.

As you splash together sing this adapted song by Susan Moon to the tune of "Row, Row, Row Your Boat":

Rain, rain falling down,
Falling all around.
What a lovely sound you make,
Splashing on the ground!

This week's idea came from:  Toddler Theme Calendar by Elizabeth McKinnon c. 1999.
